ABOUT REBECCA & KEVIN

Rebecca Lavoie is the creator and host of the top-10 iTunes charting podcast, "Crime Writers On," “HGTV & Me,” and a panelist on “These Are Their Stories: The Law & Order podcast.” She’s also the host of Netflix’s “You Can’t Make This Up” podcast.

Rebecca has been the host of “Undisclosed: Addendum,” and Slate’s “Mom and Dad are Fighting.” She has appeared as guest on “The JV Club with Janet Varney,” “Criminal,” “Crime Beat,” “Connect to Fans,” “Crime Beat,” and “The Vocal Minority Report.” She also has worked as a production adviser to another Serial spin-off, "Undisclosed."

A native of Freeport, NY, Rebecca is Digital Director at New Hampshire Public Radio. Previously she served as the NHPR Director of Audience, Digital Director, and Senior Producer of the public radio program “Word of Mouth.” She is considered a thought leader in both public media and commercial podcasting.

Rebecca has worked as a freelance columnist and magazine writer. Published in several regional and national publications, Rebecca has written for Newsweek, Playboy, Slate, Vulture, playboy.com, and New Hampshire magazine. He’s he co-author of four books with her husband Kevin Flynn: Our Little Secret, Legally Dead, Notes on a Killing and Dark Heart.

Kevin Flynn is a regular panelist on the "Crime Writers On" podcast and host of the “…These Are Their Stories: The Law & Order podcast.” He also has appeared on Netflix’s “You Can’t Make This Up,” “Bear Brook,” “Criminal,” “Reality Life,” “The Hollywood Outsider,” “The Blotter Presents,” “Actual Innocence,” and “Jeb Bartlett is My President.”

Kevin is the author/co-author of five true crime books: Wicked Intentions, Our Little Secret, Legally Dead, Notes on a Killing and Dark Heart. He has also written the nonfiction account of the struggle over the nation's first lottery in American Sweepstakes. He has appeared on over a dozen national TV shows, such as "Deadly Sins," "Unusual Suspects," "Deadly Women," "Killer Instinct," and "On the Case with Paula Zahn."

Kevin is a native of Holyoke, MA. He got his start in journalism at the age of 19 working as a news writer for News Radio WHYN-AM in 1989. In the subsequent thirty years, Kevin has become an award-winning journalist and respected author.

During his two decades in radio and TV, he won more than 50 awards for broadcast journalism, including multiple New Hampshire AP awards, several Golden Mike awards from the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters, four Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and one New England Emmy Award. Kevin was named "Best TV Reporter" three times by the readers of New Hampshire magazine.

ABOUT LARA

Lara is a journalist, true crime author, former private investigator and certified cat detective. Her work has appeared in the Portsmouth Herald, the Exeter News-Letter, the Hampton Union, the New Hampshire Union Leader, Woman's World magazine, USA Today, Vulture, and the Boston Globe.

Lara is the author of the Piper Greene Exeter mysteries series, including Dead on Deadline and The Final Curtain. She also wrote the true crime hit Lie after Lie: The True Story of a Master of Deception, Betrayal, and Murder.

In 2008, she covered the first death penalty case to go to trial in New Hampshire in almost fifty years for the Associated Press. As a news reporter, she has received numerous awards from both the New Hampshire Press Association and the New England Newspaper & Press Association for her crime and investigative reporting.

Lara was previously a licensed private detective. She worked as a defense investigator for the New Hampshire Public Defender system for seven years. During that time, she was involved in investigating cases from misdemeanor assaults to felony murders.

Lara is a board member of Exeter LitFest, which hosts an annual weekend literary festival to celebrate the rich literary heritage of the town of Exeter, NH.

Lara lives in Exeter, New Hampshire where she can often be found walking around town plotting her next local murder mystery or riding her pink scooter while trying to talk to everyone she sees.

ABOUT TOBY

Toby Ball was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Syracuse, NY, and attended Trinity College (CT). He has had stints in journalism, teaching, nonprofits and higher education. He is currently a Program Manager at UMass Lowell. He lives in Durham, NH, with his wife and two children.

Toby is the author of the widely acclaimed City Trilogy, set in in a dystopian 1930s America. His books include The VaultsScorch City, and Invisible Streets.

In addition to his Patreon-exclusive podcast, “Toby Ball’s Deep Dive Book Club,” Toby is the host of “Strange Arrivals,” from Grim & Mild and iHeartRadio.
